Workshop “Interfacial and Multiphase Flow” in March 2026 at TU Darmstadt

Annual meeting of the GAMM Activity Group (International Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics)

2025/11/06

The Workshop “Interfacial and Multiphase Flow” will take place at TU Darmstadt on March 5–6, 2026. Researchers from mathematics, mechanics, and fluid dynamics will gather to discuss current developments in the field of interfacial and multiphase flow.

A fluid droplet (blue) deforms a viscoelastic microstructure (yellow) by elastocapillary.

The two-day event brings together researchers at different career stages from across Germany who work on the diverse phenomena of interfacial and multiphase flow systems. The workshop provides a forum to discuss current developments and explore new approaches within this field.

The event is organized by the GAMM Activity Group of the International Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM), which connects scientists from various universities and research institutions throughout Germany working on theoretical, numerical, and applied aspects of interfacial and multiphase flows. The group aims to foster interdisciplinary scientific collaboration and, in particular, to strengthen the exchange between early-career and established researchers.

The Activity Group meets annually to present current research, discuss methodological progress, and plan joint scientific activities.

Within the framework of the Workshop “Interfacial and Multiphase Flow”, current results on the modeling of multiphase flows, their mathematical analysis, and numerical simulation of complex flow systems will be presented and discussed, while new research directions and collaborations will be explored.
