Computational Engineering

We are researching methods for computer-based modelling and simulation to optimise future technical systems, so that novel and sustainable technologies, processes, and products can be created.

In the profile topic Computational Engineering (CE), we are exploring techniques of computer-based modelling, simulation, and analysis to design realistic and scalable digital twins. To do this, we are using methods from mathematics, computer science and and engineering sciences and develop them further.

In this way, we support and accelerate the design of new, creative technical solutions and approaches: from research and development to construction and product design to manufacturing and operation. This is how disruptive solutions can be found to meet the requirements of future technical systems in the context of the environment, energy, and mobility, thus making a significant contribution to society and industry.
