Ingenium Support Package

The Ingenium Support Package offers postdocs and early career research group leaders at TU Darmstadt financial support for academic networking and academic independence.

The programme Ingenium Support Package will continue in the present form until 31 December 2026. All existing funding commitments remain in place. Modification to the programme at TU Darmstadt and within the Rhine-Main Univesities (RMU) is being made and will be announced following the decision on the RMU-EXCITE application for the Universities of Excellence initiative in October.

Financial Support

The Ingenium Support Package programme offers financial aid for the following purposes:

Formation of research groups or networks Financial support for the formation and/or preparation of cross-university and/or interdisciplinary research groups and networks Staff appropriations for student assistants; consumables, travel expenses for participation in research group and network meetings (excluding conference participation) 3.000 EUR
B: Organisation of scientific conferences / workshops Financial support for the organisation of scientific conferences / workshops (the conference must either be organised by a postdoc or explicitly address early career researchers) Staff appropriations for student assistants; consumables; travel and participation expenses for external ECR participants 3.000 EUR
C: Special teaching and research purposes Financial support for special research and teaching situations, such as the preparation of own risky or interdisciplinary research ideas, the organisation of special teaching formats, etc. Staff appropriations for student assistants; consumables, equipment 3.000 EUR
D: Special publication purposes Financial support for special publication purposes (no Open Access publication costs)
Note: Open Access publications by members and affiliates of TU Darmstadt may be supported financially by having the publication costs paid and receiving publishing discounts. Learn more

E: Coaching Financial support for individual coaching/counselling (career coaching, pitch training, self-marketing) Trainer costs 3.000 EUR
Postdocs at the TU can apply twice for an Ingenium Support Package in each of the two postdoc career phases, i.e. in the R2 and R3 phase. It would be possible to apply several times or every time for the same area of support.

Who can apply?

You can apply for funding if you are:

  • a postdoc at TU Darmstadt
  • in need of funding for special purposes regarding your postdoc phase
  • lacking other financing options
