SICHTEN 28 – Annual Exhibition of the Department of Architecture
November 24 to 28, 2025
The annual exhibition Views of the Architecture Department at TU Darmstadt is entering its 28th round. Under the title »Under Construction«, students are providing insights into their work processes, ideas, and experiments at the Kunstforum der TU Darmstadt.
The building of the Department of Architecture at TU Darmstadt is currently undergoing renovation – a fitting symbol for this year's exhibition. After all, architectural designs are never »finished« from the outset, but develop in a continuous process of testing, rejecting, and refining. Sichten 28 therefore shows not only completed works, but also sketches, models, and intermediate steps that make the path to completion comprehensible.
»Under Construction« also stands for the dynamics of the study program itself: Architecture thrives on trying things out, discarding them, and starting over – a permanent process of becoming. Always »under construction«.
About SICHTEN
Since 1997, the Department of Architecture at TU Darmstadt has been presenting outstanding student work from the past two semesters in its annual SICHTEN exhibition. What began as a small exhibition within the department has developed into a highly regarded platform that is known beyond regional borders in professional circles.
The exhibition features designs, drawings, photographs, films, and objects selected and staged by a team of student curators that is newly formed each year. The exhibition thrives on continuous change – each edition is given its own content and design character by the different ideas of the students.
In 2025, SICHTEN 28 will make a stop at the Kunstforum of the Technical University of Darmstadt. As every year, an exhibition catalog will be published to accompany the exhibition.
