New versatile instrument for magnetism research at ID12 of the ESRF

A new instrument has been installed at beamline ID12 for simultaneous measurements of microscopic and macroscopic magnetic properties. It combines synchrotron-based techniques such as X-ray magnetic circular dichroism and X-ray diffraction with laboratory techniques such as magnetisation, magnetostriction, magnetocalorics and magnetoresistance.

Humboldt-Preisträger entscheidet sich für UDE
Als einer von nur fünf Wissenschaftler:innen ist Prof. Hari Srikanth (University of South Florida, USA) mit dem Humboldt-Forschungspreis 2022 ausgezeichnet worden. Mit der Auszeichnung ist ein Forschungsaufenthalt an einem deutschen Institut nach Wahl verbunden. Srikanth hat sich für die Physik der Universität Duisburg-Essen (UDE) entschieden. Seine Arbeiten ergänzen insbesondere das Spektrum des großen Forschungsverbunds TRR270 „HoMMage“ zu magnetischen Materialien für die effiziente Energieumwandlung.
