CREATOR Retreat 2023

Starting with a PhD workshop on Tuesday, Mercator fellow Prof. Shanelle N. Foster from Michigan State University, USA, introduced the doctoral researchers into the “Development of the Next Generation Electric Machine”, followed by a RDM/Git workshop, lectured by Dr. Florian Kummer and Muhammed Toprak, Z02 project.

Besides the official program, the coffee breaks offered multiple opportunities for scientific exchange and inspiring discussions, so that everybody was well prepared for a motivated start into the next days, where all advisory board members, Mercator fellows and PIs joint for following the various agenda items.

After being welcomed by the CRC speakers Prof. Sebastian Schöps and Prof. Annette Mütze, the CREATORs were given an overview of each project area, presented by the respective coordinator, had the chance of deep diving into the individual projects by discussing posters and met in three different team sessions for cross-sectional scientific exchange.

Getting together for fun parlor games in the evenings, choosing one of the many nice places within the impressive location and – finally yet importantly – the hiking tour on Thursday morning, organized by Christian Bergfried, highly added to render the CREATOR retreat 2023 an enjoyable and successful event.
