RDF Tools

Storage and data management hand in hand – also available for researchers at TU Darmstadt via the NFDI

Coscine is an RDF-based solution for assigning additional metadata to files. It offers the option of using directly connected storage, but also of describing linked files or files in Gitlab repositories. By integrating the functions of the Metadata Profile Service, flexible data descriptions tailored to the respective use case are possible.

Coscine is currently being tested at TU Darmstadt, particularly with regard to a possible future central platform for providing large storage capacities. We are working closely together with RWTH Aachen University that is primarily in charge of developing and operating Coscine.

Researchers at TU Darmstadt can already obtain storage space in Coscine as part of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). The prerequisite for this is data and metadata management that meets current requirements and uses Coscine. A joint application with or consultation by NFDI staff, e.g. from the TUdata team, is necessary. Please contact us if you are interested.
