Making AI models plausible

The LOEWE focus area “WhiteBox”

2024/06/04

The researchers at “WhiteBox”, a LOEWE focus at TU Darmstadt funded by the state of Hesse, are developing methods at the interface between cognitive science and AI research in order to better understand human and artificial intelligence.

The teams contribute their expertise and findings to the research cluster “The Adaptive Mind” (TAM). TAM is currently submitting a full application for the Cluster of Excellence funding line as part of the prestigious Excellence Strategy of the German federal and state governments.

A video on the “Hessen schafft Wissen” website illustrates the issues being addressed in “WhiteBox” in order to make AI models comprehensible and explainable for humans.
