Resolutions passed by State Parliaments

In their respective plenary sessions on 11 September 2025, the Hessian State Parliament and the Rhineland-Palatinate State Parliament unanimously passed two identical resolutions to strengthen the transregional Rhine-Main science region.

The members of parliament reaffirmed actively supporting the further development of the , removing potential obstacles resulting from the location of the network in two federal states, and reserving the right to conclude a state treaty between Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse in the future in order to harmonize the legal framework of the partner universities even more comprehensively. This makes it clear that politicians see the RMU as a driving force for scientific excellence, international visibility, and innovation in the heart of Europe.
The successes of the cross-state cooperation and the political backing for the alliance were recognised.
