The members of parliament reaffirmed actively supporting the further development of the RMU, removing potential obstacles resulting from the location of the network in two federal states, and reserving the right to conclude a state treaty between Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse in the future in order to harmonize the legal framework of the partner universities even more comprehensively.

This makes it clear that politicians see the RMU as a driving force for scientific excellence, international visibility, and innovation in the heart of Europe.

The successes of the cross-state cooperation and the political backing for the alliance were recognised.
