Unite! Past, Present and Future – for the first time with Branding Event

A four-day program with the Unite! community together with external international experts coming together to share insights and learn best practices about the european university alliance Unite!, both online and in Barcelona.

This coming 29th, 30th November and 1st December, Unite! and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC), are organising the IV Dialogue of the Unite! alliance. The hybrid Dialogue will offer participants the opportunity to discuss around the various themes and activities developed in Unite!

For the first time the meeting includes an event designed for stakeholders involved in the alliance who will be able to participate in the discussion. The 4th Unite! Dialogue Barcelona 2021 will include a Branding Event, aimed at promoting the visibility of the alliance and enhancing its engagement to diverse stakeholders. Keynote speakers will debate with members of the Unite! Community that will be broadcasted live.The Branding Event will be developed in 5 key areas to show the potential and strength of the Alliance, addressing ethics & technology, impact on the European Higher Education Area, impact on the regional innovation ecosystems, leadership on smart technologies and global impact on society.

In addition, the 4th Unite! Dialogue Barcelona 2021 will host regular meetings of Students in Unite! for Representation and Empowerment (SURE!), the Unite! Steering Committee and the Unite! Governing Platform, as well as regular meetings of different Task Forces (TF) and Work Packages (WP). Last, but not least, the 4th Unite! Dialogue Barcelona 2021 will alsohost the constitutional meeting of the Unite! Academic Forum and the kick-off meeting of the Unite! Innovation community.

All the sessions, but those of specific governing bodies, are open to the participation of the entire Unite! Community. The Branding Event will be open to all stakeholders and to the society as a whole.

Alongside TU Darmstadt as the coordinator,Unite! (University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering) also includes Aalto University (Finland), KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), Grenoble Institute of Technology (France), Politecnico di Torino (Italy), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain) and Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal).

The seven partner universities aim to use the European University to create a trans-European campus for students and researchers with the involvement of regions and companies. The partners have a total of 167,000 students, already cooperate closely in more than 80 EU projects and have exchanged more than 2,000 students in the past five years. The alliance has set itself the goal of combining courses for the benefit of students, breaking down existing technical and administrative hurdles, and thus significantly increasing student mobility. Research will also benefit from the conditions created for larger and easier cooperation, which will strengthen the competitiveness of the European Higher Education Area overall.
