Statement of TU Darmstadt regarding the situation in Iran

The Technical University of Darmstadt is watching the violent events in Iran with concern. We are particularly keeping an eye on the situation at our partner university Amirkabir in the capital Tehran. We stand in solidarity with the teachers and students who are demonstrating for freedom, human rights and autonomy of teaching and research. Our deepest sympathy goes to those people who were injured or severely traumatised during the protests, as well as to the bereaved families of the victims. The Technical University of Darmstadt demands an end to the violence and to the ongoing violation of human rights.
