Regional Office North America

The Technical University of Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt) has established regional offices in key strategic regions in Asia and North America with the aim of enhancing and intensifying the collaboration and communication with partners both at higher education institutions and in industry in these regions. The initiation of the TU Darmstadt Regional Office in 2019 marked a new level of cooperation in North America.

After an intensive period of collaboration at the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VT), the North America Office moved to the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). The regional office acts as a central contact point for all partners in North America and provides support for collaboration and cooperation activities between the TU Darmstadt and partner institutions in the region.

The scope of our current activities includes the following:

  • Establishment and enhancement of support and advisory services for our partners and university community in research, teaching and knowledge transfer
  • Development and organization of customized and region-specific marketing and recruiting activities as well as participation in conferences (GACC) and international education fairs (NAFSA, GAIN) to increase the visibility of the TU Darmstadt and to attract talent
  • Development of pre-study and support programs for international mobility, e.g. development and organization of German language courses with a subject focus
