    The long-lasting relationship between TU Darmstadt and the Tongji University in Shanghai has now become a strategic partnership. This allows student and double degree exchanges, collaborative research, travelling scholarships – and invitations to visiting professors.     Emanuel Merck Lectureship 2015 awarded to Professor Paul T. Anastas

    Paul T. Anastas coined the term “green chemistry” 25 years ago, and today he is the Director of the Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering at the prestigious Yale University. The “father of green chemistry” was the guest of honour at the TU Darmstadt on 11 and 12 May.

    SEMIZENTRAL Project Receives GreenTec Award 2015

    SEMIZENTRAL, an international research project that is anchored at the TU Darmstadt, has received one of the GreenTec 2015 awards. Dr. Susanne Bieker’s team (at the Chair headed by Prof. Peter Cornel) was awarded the prize in the category “Urbanization” because it has made an impressive contribution to improving the quality of life in megacities.

    Scientists gain fundamental insights into drug delivery processes

    Chemists, biologists and pharmacologists deal with the question of how complex active substances can be introduced into cells such that they are rapidly and easily available. Building on earlier research, interdisciplinary teams of scientists, with biology Professor M. Cristina Cardoso (TU Darmstadt), physics Professors Henry D. Herce (RPI, NY, USA and TU Darmstadt) and Angel E. Garcia (RPI, NY, USA), and chemistry Professor Christian P. R. Hackenberger (FMP, Berlin), have made some important advancements.
