X-Weeks Welcome Events

Day 1 – Welcome Day Tuesday, 4 March 2025, 14:00 h Campus Stadtmitte, S1|05 Maschinenhaus, Room 122

Day 3 – Student Life Thursday, 6 March 2025, 14:00 h Campus Stadtmitte, S1|05 Maschinenhaus, Room 122
Please note that participation in Day 1, 2 and 3 of X-Weeks is mandatory for exchange students. More information about the X-Weeks will be continuously updated on this website.

During the Welcome Day, TU Darmstadt will officially welcome you and you'll be introduced you to other exchange students. You will also have the opportunity to meet the different services, important contact persons and student-led university groups who are organising a lot of fun activities this upcoming semester.

When: Tuesday, 4 March 2025, 14:00 h

Where: Campus Stadtmitte, S1|05 Maschinenhaus

Programme

  • 14:00 h: Welcome and Introduction
    Building S1|05, Room 122
  • 15:30 h: Info Fair
    Building S1|05, Rooms 22 – 24

At this event, you will receive essential information that exchange students need during their stay. Learn more about registering at your new place of residence, how to open a bank account if necessary and what you need to keep in mind when it comes to residence permits in Germany.

When: Wednesday, 5 March 2025, 14:00 h

Where: Campus Stadtmitte, S1|05 Maschinenhaus

Programme

  • 14:00 h: Info Sessions - Good to know, registering with the residents' registration office, opening a bank account, applying for a visa/residence permit
    Building S1|05, Room 122
  • 15:15 h: Consultant Desks – Experts will answer your questions about ISS, Foreigners Office, City Registration and health insurance. Your Overseas and Erasmus Officers will also be there.
    Building S1|05, Rooms 22 – 24

On Day 3, experienced exchange students and student assistants will talk about their own experiences in a panel and give tips for a successful stay in Darmstadt. Learn first-hand about what the city and our university have to offer. After the student panel, you will have the opportunity to discover the campus and get to know other exchange students better.

  • 15:00 h – Campus Quest & Meet-Up at Herrngarten. Discover the campus with the TI Team and get to know fellow exchange students at Herrngarten

The intensive German courses are organised by the Language Resource Centre (Sprachenzentrum – SPZ).

Social and Cultural Events

From 2 March, you can look forward to a variety of events including city tours, social gatherings and exciting excursions. From welcome gatherings to game nights, cultural outings to tastings, there's something for everyone. Enjoy brewery tours, yoga sessions and fun challenges like an escape room. Join us for open mic nights, coffee hours and lively get-togethers. Get ready to explore, connect and have fun!
