Late Arrivals Consultation Hour

Compulsory for exchange students who arrive in Darmstadt later and missed our welcome events.

When: Tuesdays, 10:00–12:00 (15 September–13 October 2026)

Where: International Counter in karo 5, Karolinenplatz 5

What: Check-in, receive information and collect your welcome bag

TU Darmstadt officially welcomes its new exchange students on Welcome Day. A panel of key contacts will provide information on the most important points of contact and offer personal advice. You will also have the opportunity to meet other students, as well as representatives of various university services and groups. They organise lots of exciting activities for the upcoming semester.

On the second day, you will receive all the important information that exchange students need during their stay. You will learn how to register in your new city or apply for a residence permit, for example. After these sessions you can get individual advice and ask your questions. Some of the Departmental Coordinators will be there as well.

Programme

  • 14:00 (2 p.m.): Info Sessions - Good to know, registering with the City Hall, German bank account, applying for a visa/residence permit (Room 283)
  • 15:15 (3:15 p.m.): Consultant Desks – Experts will answer your questions about ISS, Foreigners Office, City Registration and health insurance. (Room 284)
  • from 16:30 (4:30p.m.): Meet & Chill with TUtor International in Herrngarten

The intensive German courses are organised by the Language Resource Centre (Sprachenzentrum – SPZ). Learn more about the placement tests and courses on the SPZ homepage.

Connect and Feel at Home with TUtor International

Our TUtor International (TI) (opens in new tab) team is primarily responsible for making sure you enjoy your time here. They organise social and cultural events, among other things. They ensure that your stay is exciting, help you to connect with other students and enable you to quickly feel at home at TU Darmstadt.

TI works closely with the Exchange Student Network (ESN) Darmstadt (opens in new tab) in Darmstadt. They organise events specifically for exchange students.
