The International Interdisciplinary Forum on Energy and Circular Economy is an opportunity for young researchers to get involved in the unique research environment of Clean Circles accompanied by individual mentoring from experienced researchers. In this series we introduce the participants of the Forum.

Sanaz Zarabi from Iran is currently in the 4th year of her Ph.D. program in the Department of Applied Physics at Aalto University (Finland). She studies additive manufacturing of low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells and has published two papers, with others under preparation and in submission.

The forum is an opportunity to learn practical matters in the field of energy and environment. I like how this program focuses on different aspects of energy storage like economics and political sciences and highlights this topic's interdisciplinary nature. I love to have the opportunity to brainstorm about renewables with experts from other fields, too. As a woman in STEM, finding your voice in challenging topics like green energy is usually challenging. I believe that this opportunity can strengthen my ability to play a significant role in accelerating the transition to renewable energies
