Simulation and Design

From structural models to geometrically and physically non-linear models

Today, numerical simulation is an essential component in the design process and sustainable design of glass components, joining technology, validation of experimental investigations and failure analysis.

The simulation models range from simple structural models to geometrically and physically non-linear models taking into account material and structural non-linearity (e.g. contact effects).

The GCC has competences in the field of numerical structure simulation of individual glasses and laminated glass elements, fracture processes of glass, simulation of the non-linear material behaviour of adhesives and intermediate layers as well as thermal structure analysis for the simulation of production processes and installation situations up to the modelling of entire structures.
