Kunstforum
In a cooperation project of the Kunstforum der TU Darmstadt, the app of the Kunstforum was created together with students of the Department of Computer Science in a project lasting several semesters. The app presents the artwork inventory of the Technical University of Darmstadt as well as the exhibitions of the Kunstforum of the TU Darmstadt.
Stroll across the TU campus and discover art. This is exactly what the TU Darmstadt Art Forum app makes possible. It offers a comprehensive overview of the art collection of the Technical University of Darmstadt and the Kunstforum's exhibitions.
The app reflects the 125-year history of the collection at the TU and presents the wide range of artworks, including architectural sculptures, art on buildings and art in public spaces – on buildings, grounds or squares of the university. At the same time, it provides an insight into the indoor and outdoor exhibitions of the art forum, which has been in existence since 2016.
The bilingual app, which was developed in collaboration with students from the Department of Computer Science, includes information in the form of text, audio and video recordings and offers new access options for art lovers and new discoverers.
With the app of the Kunstforum der TU Darmstadt (»Kunstforum TUDa«), a project was implemented over several semesters together with students from the Department of Computer Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt, with the help of which the complete activities in the field of art at the TU Darmstadt are to be communicated in a new way.
The »Kunstforum TUDa« app includes background information on the exhibitions and the works of art on display at the Kunstforum der TU Darmstadt as well as the collection of the Technical University of Darmstadt, which extends across the various university campuses. From Helmut Lander's »Spiegelplastik« at the Department of Computer Science, to Stefan Rohrer's »Roller Coaster 2« in the inner courtyard of the Mensa Stadtmitte, to the sculptures and sculptures in the Lichtwiese sculpture garden. All the works of art are gathered together in one app. With the help of the interactive map, the individual works of art can be located according to their position. Further functions will be activated gradually.
Special attention was paid to data protection during the development of the app. The app was designed to be low-data. It does not store any user data itself and information passed on to third parties is kept to a minimum. In addition, the app was developed under the GNU 2.0 license
