On Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 6 p.m., the Kunstforum of the TU Darmstadt was officially inaugurated with the exhibition Carola Keitel OUT OF ORDER in the presence of the artist. The exhibition of the laureate of the Darmstadt Sezession 2014 takes place in the exhibition hall of the Kunstforum in the old main building and in the castle garden. Following the opening there was a summer party in the moat.
The first TU-owned exhibition begins programmatically with the show OUT OF ORDER by the young artist Carola Keitel. Even the title is provocative, OUT OF ORDER. With her subtle work, the artist questions how we perceive our environment, or what we perceive from our environment.
What interests her is the public space, because the public can read a lot about society. She expresses this in her railings, among other things. With them, a bush or tree is limited, as a desperate attempt to get things under control. Or they are misleading, like the two stair railings that Keitel will donate to the TU. The laureate of the Darmstädter Sezession 2014 made part of this work of art so that the one who makes the best proposal for the installation gets it. The chancellor of the TU was awarded the contract with his idea.
The donation of the works of art 025 and 026 to the TU Darmstadt is the trigger for this large-scale exhibition, which will take place in the exhibition hall, the palace garden and also with a work on the outdoor area of the brick hut within the context of the annual exhibition of the Darmstadt Secession “Hauptsache Skulptur”. The exhibition on the outdoor area of the Künstlerhaus Ziegelhütte, Kranichsteiner Str. 110, opens on Saturday, 25th June at 5 p.m..
The exhibition in the Kunstforum der TU Darmstadt runs until August 21, 2016.
