RADAR II. Current projects from art schools

January 31 to April 12, 2020 [VIRTUAL EXHIBITION ONLINE]

From January 31 to April 12, 2020, the Kunstforum der TU Darmstadt will present current projects by renowned art academies for the second time. The exhibition shows works that have attracted attention during the annual tours. Artistic positions from all disciplines are represented, so this time painting and installation also meet performance and sound.

The craftsmanship of art and the use of different materials connects the selected works. They make the exhibition space atmospherically and aesthetically experienceable in a surprising way. The supporting programme is supplemented by performances that are realised for one evening only.

With: Max Brück, Zoé Mahlau, Saya Schulzen and Carla Vollmers (Academy of Art and Design Offenbach), Kevin Michalski (Academy of Art Mainz), Immanuel Birkert and Sóley Ragnarsdóttir (Städelschule Frankfurt) and Štěpán Brož (Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Fine Arts, Czech Republic).

Virtual walk

The exhibition “RADAR II. Current Projects from Art Schools” will continue online from April 16, 2020. The works of the young art students can be viewed again in a virtual walk — peppered with contributions from our employees, audio features, and other gimmicks.

Opening at the exhibition hall of the Kunstforum of the TU Darmstadt at Altes Hauptgebäude, Hochschulstraße 1, 2. OG. Welcoming by Dr. Manfred Efinger (Chancellor of TU Darmstadt) and Julia Reichelt, M.A. (Head of the Kunstforum of the TU Darmstadt).

Public guided tour through the exhibition in the Kunstforum der TU Darmstadt, also an introduction for interested teachers of all school types.

Book presentation and author talk with Prof. Dr. med. Silke Heimes, poetry therapist “Ich schreibe mich gesund” (dtv, 2020).

Due to the urgent recommendation of the Presidium of the TU Darmstadt and to minimize the risk of the further spread of the new Corona virus, the performance with Carla Vollmers (Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach) — scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2020 6 p.m. — will be postponed to a later date.
