Claudia Plattner – “We need people who want to make things happen.”

Alumna Claudia Plattner sees her studies in Mathematics at TU Darmstadt as a resilient training to tackle the challenges she faces as the new President of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). Since the summer of 2023, alumna Claudia Plattner is the new President of the BSI. Plattner, a TU Darmstadt alumna, took over this position in difficult times, following the controversial removal of her predecessor Arne Schönbohm. The threat situation posed by cyberattacks has never been higher than today. But wanting to do something to protect the country is precisely the reason why mathematician Plattner is particularly attracted to this task. And being the first woman to hold this position.

Replacement documents in case of loss or damage of the official final documents acquired at TU Darmstadt are issued by the Central Examination Office. A processing fee of 50,-€ will be charged. The processing time amounts up to 4 weeks. For further information please contact

TU Darmstadt is able to authenticate copies of certificates, which have been issued by the university. Please note that the issuance of certifications / pre-certifications for the apostille may take some time and is usually not immediately issued.

Social security (DRV) certification of the entire duration of study for presentation at the German Social Security Administration (Deutschen Rentenversicherung Bund) is issued upon application.
