2025/09/13

The International Student Services Team is getting ready for the Kick-Off Days, an orientation programme designed to help new international students make a smooth transition into life in Germany and their studies at the university. Besides the orientation days, there are going to be numerous social and cultural events. You can now find an overview of these events on the Kick-Off website!

Bear in mind that you have to register for the event! You should have received an email from us (ISS) regarding that. If not,

The Kick-Off Days for the winter semester 2025 will take place on the 2nd and 9th of October. The first day will be a hybrid event as it will take place both online and on the Stadtmitte Campus while the second day will be an online only event. On the first day you will be officially welcomed as an international student at TU Darmstadt and get the chance to get to know your fellow new students as well as our team.

Don’t miss the Freshers’ Welcome Ceremony on the 8th of October! It’s the official welcome event and Info Fair for all new students at TU Darmstadt. At the info fair you can learn more about the variety of services, important contact persons and student-led university groups that TU Darmstadt has to offer.

On the second day, you’ll learn about essential topics like health insurance, bank accounts, residence permit, and more from the International Student Services! Not only that, there will also be a student panel where you’ll hear from student assistants and experienced international students about their experiences at TU Darmstadt. They will also give you first-hand advice and tips for a successful stay in Darmstadt!

In addition to the orientation days, there will also be numerous social and cultural events. There are various gatherings on the schedule, a dance workshop, a movie night, the well-loved karaoke international, and even more diverse events that you can experience in the next weeks with TUtor International (TI), ITT and ESN.

A very insightful event by TI called Survival Kit will take place on 25 October where they’ll show you how to find your way around Darmstadt and Germany through various activities. You'll be able to find an overview of all these events on the Kick-Off website.

If you’re already in Darmstadt by the 27th of September we would recommend you to go to the Global Picnic organized by TUtor International, ITT, and ESN at 5.30 p.m. You’ll be able to sample different cuisines from all around the world, share your own traditional meal, and get to know other international students at the Old Main Building, so don’t forget to come and join in on the fun!

Stay tuned and check the ISS and Kick-Off website regularly. And don’t forget to follow us on Instagram or Facebook and join our Telegram channel for the latest ISS news. The ISS-Team cannot wait to meet you!
