Call for Nominations for the 2025 DAAD Prize

Recognising International Students and Doctoral Candidates

2025/04/08

The International Student Services Team announces that nominations for the DAAD Prize 2025 are now open. Until May 15th, professors and staff can propose outstanding international students and doctoral candidates. This prestigious award, which comes with a €1000 endowment, acknowledges excellent academic achievements and exceptional commitment.

For over a decade, the DAAD Prize has honoured students who demonstrate academic excellence and distinguish themselves through remarkable social, societal, or cultural engagement. They serve as role models in their fields of study and represent their home countries in outstanding ways.

Professors and staff are invited to nominate high-achieving students and doctoral candidates who meet these criteria. As students’ supervisors, they often have good insights into their impressive engagement and achievements, which deserve recognition.

Students who are in the advanced stage of their studies can be nominated. Bachelor students must be at least in their second or third year of study, while master students must have completed at least the second semester. Recent graduates (typically no longer than three months ago) and doctoral candidates can also be nominated. Further information on the prize, the exact requirements, and the nomination process are available on the website .

Last year, Anna Klyushina who completed her Master's in Mechatronics in May 2024 and subsequently began her PhD, was honoured with the DAAD Prize 2024. Ms Klyushina was recognised not only for her academic excellence, but also for her commitment to the university environment. The list of current and former prize winners exemplifies the diversity and dedication of all international students at TU Darmstadt.
