Nighttime Letter Writing
A Creative Evening for Well-being and Belonging at TU Darmstadt
2024/10/28
On November 15, 2024, TU Darmstadt invites all university members—students, faculty, and staff—to a special evening of creative reflection and connection. Hosted by the International Student Services (with TUtor International), the Center for Educational Development and Technology (HDA), and the SchreibCenter, this event focuses on belonging. It offers participants a relaxed space to explore letter writing as a tool for personal well-being. It's an opportunity to take a break from daily routines, connect with others, and reflect on your own sense of belonging—whether that's tied to relationships, places, or emotions.
What to Expect:
The evening will begin at 6:00 PM with a warm welcome from Vanessa Geuen (SchreibCenter) and Diana Seyfarth (HDA), who will be leading the workshop. Through guided prompts and creative exercises, participants will explore what belonging means to them, both personally and within the TU Darmstadt community. You’ll have the opportunity to write in various formats, with activities designed to encourage self-expression and reflection, free from strict guidelines. For those who feel comfortable, there will also be opportunities to share your thoughts and writing with others. Participants are welcome to write in their preferred language.
Why You Should Join:
This event provides a unique chance to escape everyday stresses and focus on your well-being in a supportive, creative environment. Whether you're an experienced writer or just looking to try something new, this evening is for anyone interested in learning how to use letter writing to improve well-being, reflect, and connect with others in the TU Darmstadt community.
We welcome you to join us for this inspiring and creative evening—come as you are and leave with new insights and connections! If you have your favorite stationery, you are welcome to bring it along.
