Welcome Day and Kick-Off Party

The international students, who came to TU Darmstadt with several exchange programs from more than 20 different countries, were initially welcomed by the president of TU Darmstadt, Prof. Hans Jürgen Prömel, and the mayor of Darmstadt, Jochen Partsch. The representative of the Department of International Affairs, Regina Sonntag-Krupp emphasized the value of international students for the university.

The official part of the event was followed by a get together, where representatives of the different departments as well as central institutions and service centers of TU Darmstadt and ‘Studierendenwerk’ were answering questions of the students while offering snacks and beverages.

The day was rounded off by the kick-off party at ‘Schlosskeller’, also organized by the International Student Services of the Department of International Affairs. At the party the new exchange students, together with students of TU Darmstadt, brought the day to a close. During the karaoke special, organized by ‘TUtor International’ and the ‘Interkulturellen Tutoren Team’, the new exchange students were able to get a first impression of student’s life in Darmstadt.
