Scientific texts, such as theses or journal articles, have a distinct form, style and language and pose high demands on the writing capabilities of young scientists. Writing in a second language, English, makes it even more challenging. Awareness of what to pay attention to has to be gained and skills of structuring thoughts, sentences and paragraphs have to be mastered but none of it comes easily. This workshop will help you write English texts with less effort and identify simple patterns to focus on. Understanding the phases of text production as well as being able to take all the right steps in each phase will be practiced within the workshop. Another focus will be tools, tips and tricks that will help you accomplish your writing goals.

Target audience
This workshop is especially well suited to for students who have to write a scientific paper, such as a report, an essay, a thesis or a protocol in English. If you have a current writing project, feel free to bring it to the workshop to work on it during the exercises.
