2024/03/18

The International Student Services Team is getting ready for the Kick-Off Days, an orientation programme designed to help new international students make a smooth transition into life in Germany and their studies at the university. Besides the orientation days there are going to be numerous social and cultural events. You can now find an overview of these events on the Kick-Off website!

The Kick-Off Days for the summer semester 2024 will take place on the 8th and 9th of April. The first day will be a hybrid event as it will take place both online and on the Stadtmitte Campus while the second day will be an online only event. On the first day you will be officially welcomed as an international student at TU Darmstadt and there will also be an info fair where you can learn more about the variety of services, important contact persons and student-led university groups that TU Darmstadt has to offer.

On the second day, you’ll learn about essential topics like health insurance, bank accounts, residence permit, and more from the International Student Services! Not only that, there will also be a student panel where you’ll hear from student assistants and experienced international students about their experiences at TU Darmstadt. They will also give you first-hand advice and tips for a successful stay in Darmstadt!

In addition to the orientation days, there will also be numerous social and cultural events. There are excursions to Rüdesheim, Marburg, and München on the schedule, a welcome tournament, and even more diverse events that you can experience in the next weeks with TUtor International, ISS and ESN. You can also find an overview of these events on the Kick-Off website .

If you’re already in Darmstadt by the 3rd of April, we would recommend you to go to ESN’s international evening at Schlosskeller at 8 pm. You’ll be able to meet and get to know other international exchange and degree seeking students at an iconic location, so don’t forget to come and join in on the fun!

Stay tuned and check the ISS and the Kick-Off website regularly. And don’t forget to follow us on Instagram or Facebook and join our Telegram channel for the latest ISS news. The ISS-Team cannot wait to meet you!
