More internationality in TU Darmstadt lecture halls
Second round of the Unite! Visiting Professorship begins
2025/05/21
In the 2025/2026 winter semester, TU Darmstadt will welcome Unite! visiting professors for the second time. A total of 13 experienced postdocs from six Unite! universities are participating in the Unite! Visiting Professorship and will complement teaching and research at TU Darmstadt in eight departments for at least one semester.
The Unite! Visiting Professorship promotes networking between academic communities and supports the career development of visiting scholars. TU students also benefit from internationally oriented teaching. The 13 visiting professors from Unite! universities offer supplementary (elective) courses at TU Darmstadt and ideally introduce innovative topics. The appointment period is to run from the winter semester 2025/26, covering the lecture period from mid-October to mid-February, and can be established for a maximum of two years.
Felix Siebenhühner ,
Postdoctoral researcher in neuroscience at Helsinki and Aalto University's in Finland and on of the first Unite! Visiting Professors.
“For me, designing and teaching this course was a great experience and I learned a lot that way. 22 students graduated from the module, and I received a lot of positive feedback, with several of them saying that they were inspired to do neuroscience research. And I'm currently supervising one of them on their master's thesis. So I think that this is a very great program, and I highly recommend it to other postdoctoral researchrs who would like to get some teaching experience.”
