Take your Wanderlust on a virtual trip with TU Darmstadt's summer school on German Engineering and Language

TU Darmstadt's Virtual International Summer University is a unique academic short term program designed to provide insights into cutting-edge German engineering technology while also improving international language skills and being able to discover and learn more about German culture over the course of twelve weeks. Participating students will focus on selected and highly relevant problem areas in tailor-made modules thus allowing them to develop a deeper understanding in their chosen field of study.

During the virtual summer university, students take weekly online German language classes for STEM. In addition, they can choose two courses in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. In the field of Mechanical Engineering, students can choose between Automotive Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering and Production Engineering. In the field of Electrical Engineering, two courses will be offered: Electromagnetic Field Simulation and Microfluidics + BioMEMS.

During the virtual International Summer University Program, students will work together with other students from around the world to enhance their communication skills, problem-solving skills, and team-working skills to find solutions to complex practical tasks. The various engineering courses offer students the opportunity to gain insights into the latest research findings by combining lectures with interactive workshops and group presentations.

Students will also have several opportunities to get hands on experience within the field of engineering via virtual company visits at well-known companies such as Continental AG or Merck Chemical Engineering.
