Unite! students learn Computational Methods for Building Physics and Construction Materials

Online course by TU Darmstadt will be offered again in April 2022

2021/05/14

From April 12th to April 16th, 2021, the Institute of Construction and Building Materials at TU Darmstadt offered the course “Computational Methods for Building Physics and Construction Materials”. Eight students from the Unite! university network participated in the master’s degree course.

For the fifth year, the Institute of Construction and Building Materials organized a course on “Computational Methods for Building Physics and Construction Materials”. The main objective of the course is to teach M.Sc., PhD, and post-doctoral students the basic principles of computational methods for differential equations employed in the field of building physics and construction materials. After finishing this course, students are now able to use computational methods for their own research.

The seminar was taught online to 118 students from 29 different countries all across the world. This year, the course was supported by RILEM (the International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures), and Unite! and among the participants were eight students from Unite! partner universities other than TU Darmstadt.

Teachers Prof. Eddie Koenders, Dr. Neven Ukrainczyk, Dr. A. Caggiano, and Dr. Christoph Mankel from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering plan to offer the course again in an online format in the second week of April 2022.
