Research Funding – an overview (October 4th, 2023)

Third-party funds for research become more and more important to conduct own research projects. To successfully apply for research funding, researchers need the knowledge on funding sources, processes and formalities.

In this event, we provide an overview on third-party funding opportunities in Germany and support structures at TU Darmstadt.

  • Which funding programmes are there?
  • Which funding programme fits with my requirements?
  • Which conditions need to be considered?
  • Which support does TU Darmstadt offer?

Target group: Advanced doctoral candidates and postdocs of all disciplines, who work on a research proposal or plan to do so

Stina Preuß (wird in neuem Tab geöffnet) received her PhD as a sociologist from University of Heidelberg in the field of organisational and institutional sociology. She has been managing various projects (EU-Project ITSSOIN – University of Heidelberg/ EFRE-Project INTRA Lab) and established an innovation lab in the social welfare system. Stina Preuß is the person to contact regarding DFG funding (especially CRC, TRR) and the Hessian funding programme LOEWE.

Her motto: Share as much information needed for further, independent work. And not more.

Angela Müller (wird in neuem Tab geöffnet)is a literary scholar and received her doctorate from Justus Liebig University in Giessen and the Universidade Cathólica Portuguesa in Lisbon with a thesis on the South African writer J.M. Coetzee. After professional stages in foundation and cultural management, she switched to science management after her doctorate. At Ingenium, she coordinates the Ingenium networking programme and other networking events, as well as the Ernst Ludwig Mobility Grant for postdocs. She is also (career) advisor for prospective doctoral candidates, doctoral candidates and postdocs.
