Young Investigator Appreciation Day 2025 – Scientific independence: How to achieve it and what to consider – Tuesday, 24th of June
Ingenium invites you to the
3rd Young Investigator Appreciation Day!
This event is part of the Postdoc Career Weeks 2025 and aims to:
- honour your excellent work,
 - welcome the Athene Young Investigators (AYI), appointed to the AYI Programme of TU Darmstadt in 2025,
 - offer you a platform to establish networks with other young investigators and postdocs of different research disciplines of TU Darmstadt, Goethe University Frankfurt and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and,
 - discuss together with Prof. Dr. Jens Braun, full professor at the Department of Physics and DFG liaison officer at TU Darmstadt, Dr. Yan-Jie Schnellbach, BMBF Junior Research Group Leader, Department of Physics, TU Darmstadt, and the RMU research group leaders Dr. Pelin Tozman (AYI, ERC Starting Grant, TU Darmstadt), Dr. Anna Wanka (Emmy Noether Group Leader, GU Frankfurt) and Dr. Vanessa Zeller (AYI, research group leader, TU Darmstadt) about their experiences on their way of becoming scientifically independent. Questions such as “What are the main key elements that characterize scientific independence? And what can you do to obtain it and demonstrate it?” will be answered.
 - The session is moderated by Prof Dr Katharina Schneider and Prof Dr Kathrin Reinke.
 - You are very welcome to pose questions and discuss with our guests.
 
Who can participate?
The event is open for all established researchers (R3), postdoctoral researchers (R2) and doctoral candidates (R1) of all research disciplines of the Rhine-Main Universities being interested in an academic career with a moderated discussion and participants are very welcome to ask questions.
