The necessity to reduce climate-damaging gases in the construction industry is increasing, with the long-term goal of climate-neutral construction. Glass, a material that is theoretically infinitely recyclable, typically cannot be easily reused for float glass production due to high purity requirements. Therefore, the reuse of deconstructed glazing is of particular importance. At the GCC, the performance of deconstructed glass and glass products (insulating glass, laminated glass), as well as newly manufactured products using deconstructed glass, is being evaluated. Standard tests for new glass/new glass products are applied, and new testing methods are being developed.

Additionally, we are focusing on the pure separation of laminated glasses and strengthening measures.
