X Unite! Dialogue

The X Unite! Dialogue serves as a forum for faculty, staff, students, and decision-makers to connect, collaborate, and deliberate on the progress and sustainable future of the European University.

Attendees had the opportunity to participate in various management and working group meetings, including the interactive world café format, introduced for the first time to meet the growing demand for transversal exchange between the working groups. The event also encompassed transversal and plenary sessions, providing a comprehensive overview of the Alliance's communities, focus areas, and ongoing projects.

Inspiring People – Sparking Innovation

Participants can select from the following Unite! World Café sessions:

Quality Expert Management Team The Plan-do-check-act (PDCA) cycle is a four-step model for carrying out change, widely used in quality management. To use PDCA effectively, it is essential to clearly define objectives, gather data on current processes, execute changes thoughtfully, measure results against objectives, and iterate the cycle for ongoing improvement. By incorporating PDCA into your activities, your Unite! Community can effectively identify and address issues, optimize procedures, and enhance overall performance towards achieving Unite! strategic Quality Goals. We will make it applicable by using simple examples and letting you try PDCA out. Join us in the QM-World Café Session! Room:

Cm. 2: Digital Campus & aUPaEU Project The Erasmus+ Cm.2 “Digital Campus” together with the aUPaEU team warmly invite all Unite! dialogue participants interested in exploring the future needs of digital infrastructure for learning and teaching to join us for an insightful discussion. In each round, we plan to intensively discuss one key question (Increasing the intensive use and engagement with the federated LMS Metacampus; Relevant and suitable metadata for effectively presenting course offerings; expectations regarding future developments of the European Student Card Initiative), but it is possible to update and contribute to all three via comments at posters in all sessions. Besides this, a Metacampus and Agora team member will be available for all issues during the whole event. Room:

Cm. 3: Inclusion, Diversity and Well-being Our idea behind this discussion is to debate how the work being developed by Cm3 will impact Unite!’s 2030 goals. How can Unite! meet its 2030 goals through strategies like long-term collaboration, community building, innovative teaching, and a transEuropean campus, through key milestones such as the Joint Activities, Welcome Kits, a Diversity and Inclusion Repository, a Well-Being Guide, and the Well-Being Strategic Framework? Cm. 3: Inclusion, Diversity and Well-being In this brainstorm discussion, our aim is to listen to improve on the following questions:
- How can we ensure everyone feels genuinely welcomed in our community/organization?
- How do you define well-being in the context of our community/organization?
- How can we ensure that diverse voices are actively included in decision-making processes, to ensure equity and belonging within Unite!?

Cm. 4: Innovative Teaching and Learning This summary describes the plan to use the World Café method to explore the concept of educational capacity building within Unite! Key questions to be addressed include the definition of pedagogical capacity building, the exploration of different perspectives on its implementation within Unite, and the examination of long-term goals and expected outcomes. In order to provide different perspectives, representatives from different sub-communities will be invited, including academics, pedagogical development, administration and quality assurance. This approach aims to shed light on an issue that may not have been previously considered by the majority of Unite! members, stimulate discussion, and possibly lead to proposals for further exploration and action. Cm. 7: Doctoral Education for R&I and Society The Unite! Research School is a five-day event designed to bring together all Unite! actors, including master’s students, PhD students, researchers, and stakeholders from industry and civil society. The goals of the event are to attract master’s students to Cm. 7 Unite! Doctoral School through motivational schools, educate PhD students, and build a community of
researchers to sustain research initiatives. The event will feature testimonies from PhD students and researchers, advanced courses, an innovation challenge, visits to research infrastructures, and an “Industry Forum” where PhD opportunities and internships will be offered. Therefore, during the Unite! World Café, Cm. 7 would like to brainstorm with other communities and Unite! partners about the organization of the Research School Event. A joint discussion can help Cm. 7 improve the event, which could then be considered a good practice for the Alliance to adopt. Similar events can be organized annually, and other communities can replicate the model.
