The Kunstforum der TU Darmstadt continues its successful series of thematic exhibitions. According to (UN)BEHAUST – of houses and cities (September 3 to October 2, 2016) and LOST IN TRANSITION – from Fugitive, Ephemeral (September 23 to December 2, 2017), the exhibition dedicated to HIGHER, FURTHER, FASTER the subject of sport in contemporary art.
Performance pressure, perfectionism and low fault tolerance – which is ubiquitous in school and work everyday life – can be experienced most in one area: in sports. The contemporary art scene is also characterized by strong competition, elbow mentality, and unscrupulousness. What do sports (high performance) and art have in common?
The hardness of the sport is contrasted with the aspect of the playful-light and joyful.
The exhibition HIGHER, FURTHER, FASTER in the Kunstforum der brings exactly these two areas together. Art and Sport: What seems diametrically opposed at first, has amazing connections.
The exhibition is flanked by a diverse, interdisciplinary supporting program.
