TU Darmstadt has a strong focus on technology and innovation, which I personally find very exciting and future-orientated.

1. Excellent reputation & wide range of degree programmes
TU Darmstadt is one of the best technical universities in Germany, especially in engineering disciplines such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering and computer science. There is a wide range of courses in STEM subjects, but also in the humanities and social sciences!

The close links between the university and renowned research institutions such as ESA and the Fraunhofer Institute create an inspiring atmosphere in which students gain an early insight into pioneering developments - from space travel to digitalisation.

2. Strong focus on research
The university is part of the (the nine leading technical universities in Germany) and conducts cutting-edge research in areas such as TU9 Alliance, energy technology and robotics – ideal if you want to do research during your studies or are even considering a career in science. There are also numerous research institutions in the materials science, e.g. Fraunhofer Institutes, the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research or the Satellite Control Centre of the European Space Agency ESA. science city of Darmstadt
3. Practical relevance through co-operation with companies
TU Darmstadt has close contacts with leading companies such as Siemens, Merck, Continental and Bosch. This opens up numerous opportunities for internships, student traineeships and career starts!
4. International
There are numerous such as Erasmus+ and international cooperation with more than 300 partner universities worldwide. TU Darmstadt also offers some exchange programmesh. The proportion of international students at the TU is above average (around 25 per cent). TUDa leads the association of nine European universities in the degree programmes in Englis network – you too can benefit from this! Unite!

TU Darmstadt convinced me - with its strong start-up ecosystem and clear focus on technology-driven start-ups. This is inspiring and creates ideal conditions for exchange, networks and real synergies.

5. Perfect for start-up founders
The university attaches great importance to combining theory and practice – for example through project work, industrial internships and its proximity to the Technology and Start-up Centre in Darmstadt. There are students who have chosen TUDa simply because they already have a start-up idea and know that the TU will support them during their studies with the innovation and start-up centre. HIGHEST
6. Strong support
is the point of contact for all prospective and current students. There are also special programmes for international students. International Student Services offer comprehensive support – from The Central Student Advisory and Orientation Office (ZSB) to finding accommodation and visa advice that make settling in easier. cultural events

I live in Frankfurt and study architecture at TU Darmstadt.Darmstadt is well connected and it's easy for me to get to university from Frankfurt. The city is very student orientated and you always meet new and familiar faces - no matter where, whether in the Herrngarten, in bars, on campus or simply on the bus. TU Darmstadt itself offers many opportunities - especially for architecture students: good facilities, inspiring projects and plenty of space to develop your skills. For me, the mix is ideal: big city life in Frankfurt - and at the same time a place to study, work and feel at ease in Darmstadt.

7. Location, location, location!
The medium-sized city of Darmstadt and the well-known Frankfurt am Main are located in the economically strong Rhine-Main region in the centre of Germany. This means you connect and benefit from a great network and have access to an international labour market.

Darmstadt is not only characterised by technology - the universities also offer many degree programmes in the humanities and social sciences, architecture, art and music. The exchange between the disciplines is promoted through joint projects and open events, which creates creative synergies.

8. Interdisciplinary opportunities
TU Darmstadt promotes interdisciplinary projects, e.g. between mechanical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering and the humanities – which ensures innovative research approaches and wide-ranging career opportunities.
9. Career opportunities after graduation
Graduates of TU Darmstadt are in high demand on the labour market. The proximity to industry and the practical training facilitate career entry – both in Germany and internationally. International students can receive coaching during their studies from the , in which the TU is involved, for a smooth transition into the world of work! International Career Service Rhein-Main

I love Darmstadt and I think it's the best city to study in. It's not that big and you always meet friends to talk to on campus. The city is very beautiful and there is something for everyone. There are lots of parks, a great museum, a castle and also a shopping centre; I always love going to new places and discovering a new part of the city during my breaks between lectures. I also love going to the castle. You can always see the city from a different perspective from there

10. Quality of life and student life
Aditya,
M.Sc. Aerospace Engineering
The TU Darmstadt campus is spread all over the city, and is something like a small city tour. My favourite place is the Lichtwiese campus - it's close to beautiful hiking trails and is perfect for a little break in nature between lectures

In addition to the Odenwald, the nearby Messeler Hügelland nature reserve also offers great opportunities for hiking, cycling or simply switching off. Ideal for people who want to recharge their batteries in the countryside - without sacrificing urban infrastructure
