The Directorates of Technical University of Darmstadt cover central administrative and supportive areas, including strategic development, studies and teaching, financial and economic affairs, real estate, construction projects, building management, academic research services, human resources and legal affairs. They are also responsible for international relations and technology transfer. Support us, for example, as a lawyer, architect, gardener, as a specialist for student services, human resources management, and third-party funding, or as an engineer.

To support academic research and teaching, we offer a wide range of technical and administrative positions in our departments and academic research units. Support us for example as

The central services of Technical University of Darmstadt assist various academic and supportive areas:

  • The Forum for Interdisciplinary Research (FiF) strengthens interdisciplinarity and promotes cooperation between departments.
  • The Center for Educational Development and Technology (HDA) offers further training, e-learning tools, and evaluation reviews and surveys for teaching.
  • The University IT-Service and Computing Centre (HRZ) provides TU Darmstadt with central IT services for academic research, teaching and studies, and makes its expertise available to the University as a centre of excellence in information technology (IT). The HRZ plans, builds and operates the central information and communication infrastructure as well as high-performance systems for scientific computing.
  • The State Materials Testing Institute Darmstadt tests and certifies materials and works closely with the Institute of Materials Science on research projects.
  • The Science Communication Centre (SCC) bundles communication, marketing, and fundraising. It also ensures strategic science communication.
  • The Language Resource Centre (SPZ) offers wide-ranging programme of language courses in foreign languages, workshops in academic and scientific writing, and in intercultural competence.
  • The Studienkolleg prepares international students for studying in Germany.
  • The University and State Library Darmstadt (ULB) with its three locations on campus is the central university library of TU Darmstadt and a universal academic library for the population of Darmstadt and southern Hesse.
  • The University Sports Centre (USZ) offers a wide range of sports courses with over 200 different options for students and staff. It hosts and organises university sports events, internal university championships, and sports excursions at home and abroad.
  • The Centre for Teacher Training (ZfL) supports the initial and further training of teachers and promotes their professionalisation through practice-based advice and continuing education.
