Wie muss die Ladeinfrastruktur eines künftig elektrisch betriebenen Nahverkehrs beschaffen sein? Ein Team aus dem Fachbereich Maschinenbau der TU Darmstadt hat ein Optimierungstool dafür entwickelt. Rückenwind bekam das Projekt aus dem „Pioneer Fund“, dem gemeinsamen Innovationsförderprogramm der TU Darmstadt und des ENTEGA NATURpur Instituts GmbH.

Mit dem gemeinsamen Innovationsförderprogramm Pioneer Fund unterstützen die TU Darmstadt und das Entega NATURpur Institut den Transfer von der Forschung in die Praxis seit 2017 mit insgesamt 600.000 Euro jährlich. Mit zwei Projekten zur Gesundheitsforschung startet der Pioneer Fund jetzt in seine achte Runde.

Forschende der TU Darmstadt veröffentlichen ihre Entwicklung in „Scientific Reports“
In einem Projekt im Rahmen der strategischen Kooperation zwischen der TU Darmstadt und dem Unternehmen Merck entwickelte der Doktorand Adrian Elter innovative Papier-basierte Schnelltests zur Detektion von SARS-CoV-2 spezifischen Antikörpern. Die Ergebnisse wurden jetzt publiziert.

CORAmaps-Mitgründer Markus Huhn über ein Geschäftsmodell, das perfekt in die Digitalökonomie passt, und die Gratwanderung, die das mit einem EXIST-Forschungstransfer geförderte Start-up der TU Darmstadt gerade vollzieht.

Vanessa Zeller ist Expertin für Nachhaltigkeitsbewertung – und „Athene Young Investigator“
Dr. Vanessa Zeller erforscht, wie sich bio- und recyclingbasierte Stoffkreisläufe klima- und ressourcenschonend umsetzen lassen. Die Leiterin der Arbeitsgruppe Nachhaltigkeitsbewertung am Fachgebiet Stoffstrommanagement und Ressourcenwirtschaft des Instituts IWAR ist erst seit wenigen Monaten an der TU Darmstadt und bewarb sich gleich erfolgreich um die Förderung als „Athene Young Investigator“.

Apple AirDrop teilt nicht nur Dateien

Forschende der TU entdecken Datenschutzlücke bei Apple-Filesharing-Funktion
Mittels AirDrop können Apple-User Dateien miteinander teilen. Doch Untersuchungen von TU-Forschenden am Fachbereich Informatik zeigen, dass auch ungebetene Personen Daten abgreifen können. Das Forschungsteam entwickelte eine Lösung, die das unsichere AirDrop ersetzen könnte. Apple hat die entdeckte Datenschutzlücke bisher noch nicht geschlossen.

Große Moleküle in lebende Zellen transportiert

„Nature“-Veröffentlichung mit Beteiligung der TU Darmstadt
Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler der TU Darmstadt und des Leibniz-Forschungsinstituts für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP) in Berlin haben untersucht, wie große funktionale Biomoleküle wie Proteine oder Antikörper in eine Körperzelle gebracht werden können. Die Verknüpfung mit zellpenetrierenden Peptiden ist ein vielversprechender Weg – hat bislang jedoch noch nicht durchweg zu den erhofften Ergebnissen geführt. Befestigt man diese Peptide zusätzlich an der Zelloberfläche, klappt es mit dem Transport ins Zellinnere um vieles besser. Die bahnbrechenden Ergebnisse wurden im Fachmagazin „Nature Chemistry“ veröffentlicht.

Literarischer Einstieg in Diversitätsprozess – TU-Projekt „Herkunft“ ausgezeichnet
Ein Buch für die TU Darmstadt: Ein Semester lang wird sich die Universität mit dem Roman „Herkunft“ von Saša Stanišić beschäftigen – in Podiumsdiskussionen, Lehrveranstaltungen, Aktionen und Begleitveranstaltungen. Die Aktion ist zugleich der Auftakt einer universitätsweiten Debatte zum Thema Diversität. Stifterverband und Klaus Tschira Stiftung wählten jetzt das TU-Projekt „Herkunft“ im Rahmen ihrer Ausschreibung „Eine Uni. Ein Buch.“ aus und fördern seine Umsetzung mit 10.000 Euro.
