Confidential Counseling and Formal Complaint
The Anti-Discrimination Officer provides confidential counseling in cases of discrimination. The Anti-Discrimination Officer is not involved in the examination of formal complaints.
Confidential Counseling
The offer of the anti-discrimination officer in cases of discrimination to those affected is an individual, confidential consultation. This primarily focuses on being able to reflect on the experienced or witnessed case and discuss possible ways to deal with it. One possible way to deal with it could be a formal complaint. Here, the anti-discrimination officer can provide information regarding the process.
Formal Complaint
With the general act on equal treatment and the Guidelines against Discrimination members of TU Darmstadt have the right to lodge a complaint. This states that members of the university can complain to the university if they have experienced discrimination in the context of the university.
The examination of this complaint is the responsibility of the Beschwerdestellen (). They obtain information that they need to examine the complaint. Confidentiality is suspended to an extent appropriate to the assignment. The complaint can be upheld, which can result in a measure that is appropriate to the facts of the case. However, it can also be rejected. In both cases, both the complainant and the person 'accused' in the complaint are informed.
