Children's Lectures

Academia is exciting: “Children’s lectures” organised by the Bürgerstiftung Darmstadt are held at the university.

University and State Library

The University and State Library supplies members of TU Darmstadt and residents of South Hesse with printed and digital literature, as well as information about research, teaching and degree programmes. The library also offers a wide-ranging cultural programme with exhibitions and lectures.

University swimming pool

Originally built in 1928, the university swimming pool on Lichtwiese was completely renovated in 2011 and is a popular place for sport and leisure. The heated pool has a consistent water temperature of 23° C. For the little ones, there is the “frog pool” beside it.

Science communication

Successful communication happens when there is direct interaction with experts. That’s why academics are the most important communicators at TU Darmstadt. They take a partner-like approach to engagement with others. The idea is for academia and society to seamlessly integrate with each other, in an active process of xchange. The Science Communication Centre provides them with legal, psychological and technological support, with the aim of creating the best possible model for participatory and authentic science communication.
