Study Start Scholarship
Carlo and Karin Giersch Foundation

The scholarship programme offered by the Carlo and Karin Giersch Foundation sponsors international bachelor students starting their studies at the Technical University Darmstadt.

Graduates of German schools abroad (DAS ) and participants of the PreCIS programme have the opportunity to apply for the one-semester Study Start Scholarship.

  • You are an international applicant at TU Darmstadt.
  • You are a graduate of a German school abroad or participant of the PreCIS programme .
  • You applied for this winter semester at TU Darmstadt and will commence your studies at the beginning of this winter semester.
  • You applied for the scholarship within the deadline with the application form (opens in new tab) and all required attachments.

Funding is provided for up to two DAS graduates and two PreCIS participants per semester for the duration of one semester.
Funding is possible for a maximum of one semester.
The scholarship amounts to a total of € 2,400 for one semester. The scholarship is paid in two instalments to the German bank account specified by the student.

  • Letter of motivation (in German)
  • Tabular CV (in German)
  • Scan of the last report card
  • Proof of enrolment/ study certificate (can be submitted at a later time, but no later than 30.09.)

The incoming applications will be reviewed in regard to the eligibility criteria. The scholarship will be awarded by a selection committee.

  • PreCIS participants must submit their application via by 30.09.
