TU Darmstadt and Continental Automotive Technologies GmbH jointly sponsor outstanding students in Japan

As part of the strategic collaboration between Continental Automotive Technologies GmbH and TU Darmstadt, the Future Leaders Scholarship Program was launched. The scholarship enables students to spend ten months in the business metropolis of Tokyo. They will first complete a pre-study internship at Continental in Frankfurt and then spend a one-semester research stay in a laboratory at the Institute of Industrial Science of the University of Tokyo.

The one-semester research stay at the University of Tokyo is followed by a five-month internship at Continental Automotive Technologies GmbH. At the Japanese branch you will be entrusted with projects that are specifically geared to your study focus and interests.

  • You are enrolled at the Technical University Darmstadt in a Master's degree programme in Mechanical Engineering (with a focus on software development), Electrical Engineering and Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • You belong to the top 20% of students in your degree programme
  • You have a very good command of English
  • Extracurricular commitment
  • Social competence
  • Interest in vehicle technology issues
  • Interest in Japanese culture
  • Knowledge of Japanese and intercultural experience desirable

Master's students from the above-mentioned departments can apply for the scholarship until 31 October. The students go through a multi-stage selection process in which both their professional qualifications and their personal requirements are examined.

A pre-selection will be made within the department. The best candidates will be invited to an interview with Continental Automotive Technologies GmbH in Frankfurt in November. .

  • Participation in an intercultural training course at the TU Darmstadt before departure
  • Participation in a Japanese language course at Tokyo University
  • Participation in a two-week preliminary internship in August at Continental Automotive Technologies GmbH in Frankfurt
  • flight allowance of 800€
  • Scholarship of 1,000€ per month for ten months
  • Remuneration for the two-week preliminary internship in Frankfurt
