The Menu of the Web Portal

You can find the Web Portal at www.tucan.tu-darmstadt.de.

The homepage

On the homepage, log in with your TU-ID and the corresponding password. You will also find the course catalogue and the Help menu.

You can view the course catalogue without a TU ID.

Your personal homepage

News

Your personal homepage opens when you have logged in to the system with your TU-ID and password. On your personal start page you can see whether there are any appointments for today. You will also find out whether new messages have been received for you.

Messages

If you click on Messages in the menu on the left, you will get to the message archive. There you will find system messages that you have sent or received in the past.

Course catalogue

In the menu Course Catalogue you will find the course catalogue of the TU Darmstadt. You can search for specific courses there.

Schedule

The system automatically enters all the courses you are taking in the current semester and all the exams you register for into a timetable. When you open the Schedule menu, you will see your events for the current week.

Courses

In the Courses menu you will find everything about modules and courses.

There you can

  • register for modules and courses.
  • Download scripts and exercise material.
  • View your modules and courses from previous semesters.

My modules

Here you can see a list of modules that you are currently attending or have already attended.

My courses

Here you can see a list of courses that you are currently attending or have already attended.

My electives

If your study regulations provide for minor subjects, specialisations or concentrations, you can define these under My elective areas.

Note: You can only register for the associated courses once you have defined the elective area.

Registration

You can register for modules and events in the Registration menu.

My current registration status

Here you can see all the events you have registered for.

The system distinguishes between pending, accepted and rejected registrations.

In the Exams menu

  • you can register for examinations.
  • you can see which exams you have registered for.
  • You can reschedule examinations if the examiner has created alternative dates.
  • you can deregister from examinations.
  • create and change your personal examination schedule.
  • view your semester results.
  • you can print out a performance overview.

Attention! You can register final theses (Bachelor's thesis or similar) at the Office of Student Affairs.

My exams

Here you can see which exams you are registered for.

You can register for exams via Registration for exams.

My examination schedule

Your personal examination schedule is stored here, if your study regulations provide for personal examination schedules.

You can change your personal examination plan in consultation with your department.

Semester results

Your module results and examination achievements are filed here.

Performance record

In this menu you can see your current performance record.

Service

In the Service menu you can see your personal data stored in the system. You can also determine whether system messages are forwarded to your e-mail box.

Personal data

To view your personal data, click on Personal Data in the left-hand menu. If there are any errors in your personal data, please contact the Student Secretariat.

In this menu you can also determine whether system messages are forwarded to your e-mail box. To do this, first click on Change. Then tick the question Forward messages to university e-mail address?

In the Help menu you will find the links to all instructions as well as to the answers to frequently asked questions.
