In “justified cases”, the examination board can agree to an extend the deadline of a thesis up to a maximum of half of the regular processing time (max. 13 weeks for full-time studies). See Section 23 para. 5 Allgemeine Prüfungsbestimmungen (opens in new tab) (APB).

For this purpose, an application for an extension of the deadline must be submitted via the Office for Student Affairs. The examination board will review and decide on the applications.
