TU Darmstadt’s two main campuses – Stadtmitte and Lichtwiese – are spread across the city. In addition, there are three smaller locations: the Botanical Garden, the University Stadium and the Wind Tunnel / August-Euler Airfield in Griesheim.

Stadtmitte (S)

The campus Stadtmitte in the heart of Darmstadt is the oldest location of the university. It is home to the welcome centre karo 5 and the University and State Library. The campus is divided into four sections S1-S4.

Lichtwiese (L)

The Lichtwiese campus on the south-eastern outskirts of Darmstadt was established in the 1960s and is home to institutes dedicated to the natural sciences and engineering. The campus is divided into six sections L1-L6.

Botanischer Garten (B)

The Department of Biology and the Institute of Earth Sciences are located on the campus Botanischer Garden. The heart of the campus is the 200-year-old Botanical Garden, which invites you to explore its flora.

Hochschulstadion (H)

The campus Hochschulstadion is home to various university sports facilities. The Otto-Wolfskehl-Haus, the International Guest House of TU Darmstadt, is also located here.

More than ten institutes use the August-Euler airfield and the associated wind tunnel in Griesheim as a testing ground for research and training.
