New PhD Graduate Omid Mohseni
2025/11/18
Last month, Omid Mohseni successfully defended a PhD with distinction at Technische Universität Darmstadt. The achievement marks the culmination of years of rigorous research, late nights, and numerous experiments. Although the defense represents the conclusion of the doctoral work, it also signals the beginning of a new chapter in research and academic exploration. The dissertation, titled “Synthesis of Legged Locomotion in Humans and Machines Through Force‑Based Concerted Control” presents research aimed at advancing the understanding and application of assistive technologies and robotic systems. The project has been a deeply rewarding endeavor for Omid, reflecting both scientific growth and innovative contributions to the field. This milestone was made possible through the exceptional support of supervisors, colleagues, students, and family. Special thanks go to Prof. Andre Seyfarth and Prof. Mario Kupnik, along with the teams at the Lauflabor Locomotion Laboratory, Institute of Sports Science, and the Measurement And Sensor Technology Group, Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Omid's special appreciation is also extended to Dr. Maziar Sharbafi for invaluable mentorship and guidance throughout the research journey.

RTG LokoAssist Team attends the 29th Congress of the European Society of Biomechanics
2024/06/30
June 30 – July 4, 2024 – Edinburgh
Three members of LokoAssist attended the 29th Congress of the European Society of Biomechanics in Edinburgh. Otilia Pasnicu delivered a presentation within the Prosthetics and Orthotics session, while Omid Mohseni and Vahid Firouzi showcased their work through a poster presentation. It was a great opportunity to meet and network with many dedicated professionals in the field of biomechanics. The congress was filled with enlightening sessions and discussions that provided attendees with a wealth of knowledge and innovative ideas. We look forward to bringing these new insights back to RTG LokoAssist and incorporating them into our work.
