You are studying at one of our European partner universities and are interested in a stay abroad as part of a short-term research stay (also known as a (compulsory) internship) at one of TU Darmstadt's departments?
On this page you will find useful information on this topic.
You must meet the following requirements for a short-term research stay or (compulsory) internship:
- You are enrolled as a full-time student (Bachelor, Master, PhD)
- at one of our European partner universities
Short-term student research stays are usually designed to support specific research projects or to answer your own research questions.
Internships usually serve to gain practical experience in a specific professional field and to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during your studies.
TU Darmstadt does not offer internships that fall within the scope of the law regulating a general minimum wage. For this reason, voluntary internships are only possible for a period of up to three months (90 days). Compulsory internships can be longer than three months and must be an integral part of the examination regulations of the home university. Proof of this must be provided, see document "Confirmation of a Compulsory Internship (opens in new tab) ".
