Photo ID for establishing identity in examinations / viewing of examination scripts
Which ID cards are suitable for establishing identity? What should be considered?
At examinations or viewing of examination scripts, the supervisory person must ensure that the person receiving the examination copy is identical with the person named on it.
This is done by identity verification using a photo ID.
Suitable photo IDs for identity verification are
- (german) Identity card
- (german) Travel Passport
- Passport of the country of nationality
- Driving licence

- Supplementary identity card of the German Society for Transidentity and Intersexuality (dgti) more information (opens in new tab)
Please consider:
A person may not be required to hand in and deposit their identity card. The identity card may only be inspected, but not retained. This does not apply to other photo IDs.
