Description

The interdisciplinary Master's programme in Energy Science and Engineering provides a broad range of specialist knowledge on the following topics:

  • renewable energies;
  • conventional energy technologies;
  • energy conversion, storage and use;
  • technological, ecological, economic and social framework conditions;
  • Resource situation and climate development.

The study programme can be individually oriented through an extensive range of compulsory electives and in-depth study in the subject areas.
Stays abroad are possible during the study programme.

Graduates of the programme are distinguished by their versatile knowledge and competences, which enable them to deal with current problems in research, industry and administration.

Admission requirements 1. Bachelor's degree in one of the following degree programmes at TU Darmstadt (see Bachelor's degree programmes):
Angewandte Geowissenschaften, Architektur, Bauingenieurwesen und Geodäsie, Chemie, Computational Engineering, Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik, Informationssystemtechnik, Ingenieurwissenschaften und Mechanik, Maschinenbau, Materialwissenschaft, Mathematik mit Nebenfach Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik, Mechanik, Physik oder Chemie, Mechanik, Mechatronik, Physik, Umweltingenieurwissenschaften, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen – Technische Fachrichtung Elektrotechnik, Maschinenbau, Bauingenieurwesen oder Materialwissenschaft
or an equivalent degree in engineering or natural sciences with at least 18 ECTS (credit points) in mathematics and at least 24 ECTS in engineering or natural sciences, which can be attributed to at least two different subject areas in terms of content.
2. Proof of proficiency in English and German.
3. Passed Entrance requirements verification in accordance with the Competences description.
