It is finally time to announce the winners of the student video contest. Launched by the Multilingual & Multicultural Training Centre (M&M), this contest aimed at showing the cultural diversity that defines Unite!

27 students participated in the student video contest and shared their daily student life with the whole Unite! community. Last week, all videos were uploaded on Unite!'s Metacampus so that all the students from the alliance could vote for their favourite video. Voting is now closed and we count seven winners. The winning videos will be used for pedagogical and dissemination purposes within the alliance and the winning students will be invited to the Unite! Student Festival in Lisbon, from June 29 to July 1st.

Präsidentin Professorin Tanja Brühl und Professor Thomas Walther, Vizepräsident für Innovation und Internationales, haben am Mittwoch (19. April) eine hochrangige Delegation der Tongji Universität aus Shanghai unter Leitung von Senatspräsident Fang Shouen begrüßt. Es war das erste Treffen in Präsenz nach mehr als vier Jahren Pandemiepause. Ziel des Besuchs war die Vertiefung der strategischen Partnerschaft. Im Rahmen des Besuchs wurde ein Dual Master-Abkommen im Bereich Fahrzeugantriebe/Automotive Studies unterzeichnet.

Opening event for preparatory semester for international Bachelor students

On Friday, 14 April 2023, the welcome event for the newly developed pilot programme PreBachelor took place at the Technical University of Darmstadt. The first participants of the summer semester 2023 were officially welcomed and then introduced to the Campus Stadtmitte.

Communications Engineering and Data Science and Design Thinking and Product Development

The Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programs at Bachelor's and Master's level provide students with in-depth knowledge of the focus areas “Communications Engineering and Data Science” and “Design Thinking and Product Development”, combining online learning at the home university with a study visit on campus at Aalto University. The application deadline is 15 May 2023.

Apply now and choose between three Unite! universities

This master's programme allows you to choose between three Unite! universities, to advance your knowledge in the broad field of computer networks and cybersecurity, and gain professional experience through tailored industry-relevant projects and entrepreneurship training. Application is already open and the deadlines vary from February to May, depending on the University students chose for their first year.

The Unite! student video contest offers you the opportunity to share your cultural reality and win tickets to the Unite! Student Festival held this June in Lisbon. Deadlines go from 30 March to the 9th of April depending on the university.

The goal of this contest is to show the diversity and interculturality that define the Unite! student community. The short film (max. length 3 minutes) will be shown as an example of common and uncommon students’ life from Unite!’s nine partner universities. It should highlight the student’s personal life and habits, and make other universities’ students interested in the Unite! diversity.

Memristor Technology

During the visit of a TU delegation led by the Vice President for Innovation and International Affairs, Professor Thomas Walther, an International Joint Research Lab (IJRL) in the field of “Memristor Technology” was ceremonially opened on 17 March 2023 at the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan.

The Unite! Seed Fund aims to achieve the maximum potential of Unite! It is envisioned to provide financial support to innovative, co-creative and collaborative ideas from teachers, researchers and students across the Unite! alliance. The Seed Fund intends to support exploration and development of attractive and diverse activities and projects, to help secure either the additional funds for a project or to carry out cooperation on joint, ambitious and innovative ideas within the alliance.

Gemeinsame Lösungen für die Förderung nachhaltiger Energie in Europa

Unite! und Una Europa, zwei Universitätsallianzen, die insgesamt 20 europäische Universitäten vereinen, haben sich für gemeinsame Matchmaking-Aktivitäten zum Thema nachhaltige Energie in Horizon Europe – dem Europäischen Rahmenprogramm für Forschung und Innovation – zusammengetan. Die beiden Veranstaltungen – ein digitales Pre-Matchmaking und ein persönliches Treffen in Brüssel – brachten 46 Forschende aus 15 Universitäten und 10 Ländern zusammen. Drei neue europäische Forschungskonsortien bereiten derzeit Vorschläge für kommende Ausschreibungen in Horizon Europe Cluster 5 „Klima, Energie und Mobilität“ vor.
