Unite!4Future 2nd call winners revealed

The winning project was the “Unite! Arts & Sports festival”, which was announced last week during the Unite! Summer Community Event in Stockholm
In the Unite! 4Future competition, mixed student teams from all Unite! partner universities compete against each other with their ideas for the university of the future. The second round of the competition was won by the team “Unite! Arts & Sports Festival”. The award ceremony took place last week during the Unite! Summer Community Event in Stockholm last week.

Lively and creative discussions during Unite! Summer Community Event
A bright and mostly sunny Stockholm welcomed more than 200 Unite! staff members and students for the Unite! Summer Community Event June 13-15. The event gathered members of the Erasmus+ Task Forces and the Horizon 2020 Work Packages and around 30 meetings were scheduled. In addition, a number of open seminars were arranged on different Unite!-related themes.

Europe Day held on the 9th of May every year celebrates peace and unity in Europe. The date marks the anniversary of the historic 'Schuman declaration' that set out his idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would make war between Europe's nations unthinkable.

Learning app Akamu wins first round of Unite!4Future

Winning team visits the Universidade de Lisboa
In the Unite!4Future competition, mixed student teams from all Unite! partner universities compete against each other with their idea for the university of the future. The first round was won by the team around the learning app Akamu. The idea came from the university group Akamu e.V. at the TU Darmstadt. They won a trip to the Universidade de Lisboa, which they have now embarked on.

Unite! summer school: Human-Centered Machine Learning

This course takes place from the 8th until the 19th of August, in a face to face format at Aalto University campus, during Aalto University Summer School. It is open and free of charge for all Unite! students at a bachelor’s level, who will receive 3 ECTS upon the successful completion of the course.

Mobility for all!

New Erasmus+ project IDEM launched
Unite! wants to create a new model of a European virtual and physical campus accessible to all Unite! students. The new Erasmus+ project “IDEM – Inclusion, Diversity, Equity in Mobility”, which was officially launched in a virtual kick-off meeting on February 14, aims to enable in particular students with disabilities, refugee students and first-generation students to fully participate in all mobility programmes between Unite! partner universities. Concrete approaches will be developed for this over the next three years. The project is coordinated by the TU Darmstadt.

Unite! wants to pave the way for the excellence in research, innovation and education that is essential to meet the challenges of our time. Our Mission Statement 2030 is the result of a concerted effort by the entire Unite! community.
Unite! University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering aims to reach the next level of development as a European university alliance, creating a wealth of new and unprecedented opportunities for its students, staff and partners in the coming years. Continuing its journey that began in 2019, Unite! aims to develop as a dynamic and inclusive university alliance, committed to long-term sustained collaboration and progressive integration.

Unite! supports the manifesto for the future of universities in Europe

The Manifesto presents the students’ ideas on the future of Higher Education in Europe, as well as some recommendations to make European universities more in line with their expectations.
In the perspective of the Conference on the Future of Europe which took place this past January, students from Bachelor’s to PhD from all European universities were invited to design a manifesto. This Conference was designed to be an incubator for new proposals for shaping the university of tomorrow, involving national authorities, the European Commission and drawing in particular on the feedback from the 41 alliances set up under the “European Universities” initiative.
